Norton Planning Board continues five active development hearings to March 17 after storm forces virtual session. Acting Chair Eric Norris, the board's clerk, led a five-member quorum after Chair Alan and Vice Chair Tim were absent from the February 24 meeting. The board voted 5-0 to endorse lot combinations on Mansfield Avenue for Pistern Home Builders LLC, then continued hearings on a 21-lot cluster development at 0 Pine Street — where abutters Anthony Soika and Bob Butler pressed the board on cumulative traffic from an estimated 74 new homes on the corridor — as well as a revised apartment project at 0 West Main Street that is dropping its multifamily special permit in favor of a by-right "top of the shop" configuration.

The board accepted a surety bond exceeding $900,000 for Balfour Farms' Lloyd Circle and Jermaine Way roadwork, conditioned on treasurer approval, and voted 5-0 to nominate member Steve Warshall as the board's representative to the Historic District Commission. A joint public hearing with the Select Board on Village Center Core building-height reductions is set for March 12 at 6 p.m.
