Norton Planning Board continues Mansfield Avenue mixed-use project review, fields informal Amazon van lot pitch. The board voted unanimously July 7 to continue site plan review for a proposed two-story, 8,400-square-foot building at 113 Mansfield Avenue, owned by Jasmine Garden Restaurant proprietor Brian Zang, to its August 18 meeting, pending Conservation Commission wetland review and outstanding departmental sign-offs. Engineer Bob Forbes of Zenith Consulting Engineers presented plans for four two-bedroom residential apartments above ground-floor retail and office space, with 29 parking spaces accessed from Robinson Road.

In a separate, non-voting discussion, consultant Mark Arnold of Goddard Consulting asked the board for informal feedback on a proposal to park roughly 120 Amazon delivery vans on a South Washington Street parcel that had a similar large-vehicle parking request denied approximately three years ago; board members raised concerns about morning traffic queuing, massed electric-vehicle fire risk, and the absence of excise tax benefit to Norton, and directed the applicant to review prior meeting recordings and the written denial before filing any new application.
