Norton Planning Board Approves Minor Duplex Footprint Change at South Worcester Street Project
NORTON — May 5, 2026 — Norton Planning Board clears minor footprint revision for South Worcester Street duplex project and faces a member vacancy. The board voted unanimously Tuesday to classify a requested change to six of 15 duplexes at 225 South Worcester Street as a minor modification to Special Permit SP-19 and Site Plan SPR-12, allowing construction to continue without a new public hearing. Applicant Ryan Duvalli of Heritage Realty said the revised floor plan, which actually reduces total square footage from roughly 1,900 to roughly 1,800 square feet per unit, is designed to accommodate a first-floor primary bedroom suite in response to buyer demand, with no change to bedroom count, lot lines, or Title V septic classifications. The board also learned that member Bridget, its recently elected clerk, will relocate out of Norton around June 1, vacating her seat and leaving the board to reassign clerk duties. Separately, the Finance Committee voted nine to one the night before to endorse a Village Commercial Center zone modification ahead of spring town meeting, reversing an earlier unfavorable vote.
